The Shakespeare Galaxy AIS 8-Foot Antenna, 6dB gain with a stainless steel ferrule, is tuned specifically to work reliably with popular AIS transceivers, letting a boater track and broadcast vessel position with real confidence rather than relying on a general-purpose VHF antenna stretched to cover AIS duty.

This is the reduced-length version of Shakespeare’s proven 5225-XT-AIS design, running genuine broadband VHF performance across the wider spectrum AIS actually needs. One detail worth knowing before installation: this antenna is DC grounded, meaning it will read as shorted on a continuity test, which is expected behavior for this design rather than a fault.
