Description

The Digital Yacht N2K Protect is a dedicated security and diagnostic device for NMEA 2000 networks. As modern boats become more connected, the CAN-based network that links navigation, engine, electrical, and monitoring equipment becomes increasingly important to protect and validate. N2K Protect continuously watches network traffic so installers and owners can identify abnormal behavior, configuration problems, and potential security issues.

The compact module connects directly to the NMEA 2000 backbone and is powered by the network, so installation requires no separate power wiring. During commissioning, it can be used to test and validate the network, review connected devices, inspect PGN traffic, and log raw NMEA 2000 data. After installation, it can remain connected for continuous 24/7 monitoring.

Built-in Wi-Fi allows the N2K Protect to create its own wireless network or join an existing vessel network. Configuration and monitoring are handled through a browser-based interface, so no proprietary app is required. Phones, tablets, and computers can all access the interface when connected to the device.

An internal 92dB buzzer provides local alerts, and remote SMS alert capability is available when the system is paired with compatible Digital Yacht 4GX or 5GX communications equipment. Firmware can be updated through the web interface as network-security requirements evolve.
