ARCO Zeus A275L Single Foot Alternator with Regulator

Description

The ARCO Zeus A275L Single Foot Alternator is a high-output 12V charging solution engineered for marine, RV, military, and commercial applications with large battery banks and heavy electrical demand. ARCO positions the A275L as the highest-power alternator in its size and class, with output optimized not only at high RPM but also at the lower alternator speeds encountered during engine idle and cruising.

Thermal management is a major part of the design. Heat-shedding E-Coat or Cerakote finishes, an externally mounted rectifier, dual cooling fans, and OEM-grade components help the alternator run 8-20% cooler than incumbent designs. Lower operating temperature helps the alternator sustain higher amperage for longer periods and can reduce dependence on a separate generator by producing more usable electrical power from the engine.

This version uses a large 138mm stator, 16-pole P-type field design, and internal/external regulation. It is internally regulated but includes an adapter for optional external regulation, allowing owners to pair it with an ARCO Zeus Bluetooth Alternator Regulator when advanced charging control or lithium battery charging is required. Default output voltage is 14.1V.

ARCO lists a cold maximum output of 311A at 9,000 alternator RPM, sustained hot cruising output of 227A at 6,000 RPM, and sustained hot idle output of 198A at 3,000 RPM. Cut-in speed is 1,061 alternator RPM, maximum alternator speed is 19,000 RPM, and maximum continuous operating temperature is 110°C.

The alternator uses an M8 side-mount battery post, a 49K6 six-groove 49mm pulley, and a 17mm pulley shaft threaded M17 x 1.5. Pulley nut and washer hardware are included. Six positive and six negative 50A avalanche-rated diodes support the high-output rectification system.

This single-foot version replaces many domestic-style alternators using a 1-inch or 2-inch mounting foot, including common Motorola and Prestolite configurations. It is SAE J1171 certified and made in the USA. See the rest of our marine alternators.
