Samlex 20A Non-Isolated 24V to 12V Step-Down Converter

Description

The Samlex SDC-23 is a heavy-duty non-isolated DC-DC converter that steps a 24V nominal electrical system down to a regulated 13.8V output for 12V equipment. It is intended for negative-ground boats, trucks, buses, heavy equipment, and other mobile systems where conventional 12V loads must operate from a higher-voltage battery bank.

The converter supports approximately 20-30V DC input and provides up to 20A at 13.8V DC. High-efficiency switch-mode circuitry helps reduce wasted power and heat while maintaining a stable output for radios, lighting, audio systems, displays, and other 12V accessories.

Protection includes temperature-compensated current limiting, output over-voltage protection, short-circuit protection, input over-voltage and transient protection, and reverse-polarity protection. An over-voltage crowbar circuit adds another layer of protection for connected equipment if the output rises beyond its normal operating range.

Because the SDC-23 is non-isolated, input and output share a common negative connection and the converter is intended specifically for negative-ground systems.
