It still interoperates fully with existing Class A and Class B systems already out there, so a boat running this transponder is never isolated from the broader AIS network. Data outputs cover NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000, and USB, and the unit ships with a GPS antenna, though it still needs connection to a VHF antenna or a compatible VHF-AIS splitter.

Important: Federal rules mandate that every unit sold domestically gets set up by a certified technician rather than the end user.
