Description

The BEP Marine 720-MDO remote-operated battery switch is designed to move the main battery switching point closer to the battery while placing control where it is convenient for the operator. Shorter high-current cable runs can reduce copper cable cost, weight, and installation labor, making the switch particularly useful for remote loads such as bow and stern thrusters.

An optical sensor expands the installation options beyond a basic same-voltage system. The main contacts can be isolated from the control circuit, allowing the switch to control higher-voltage circuits from a different supply. This makes it possible to manage applications such as a 36V or 48V thruster from a lower-voltage house system. The switch can be installed in either positive or negative lines and draws very little current while standing by.

Remote operation is supported by LED status indication, while a manual override helps satisfy CE and ABYC operating requirements. The switch uses the same capacity and mounting options as BEP’s standard heavy-duty battery switches and supports interchangeable labeling.
